Childcare Centres - Waitakere City

Waitakere City is Auckland City's second largest population centre. With population comes children and plenty of choice in childcare centres. The main areas are Henderson, New Lynn and Massey. Interestingly there are new early childhood centres popping up every few months, often with long waiting lists. Henderson has the largest number with over 30 centres.

Great North Road passes right through Waitakere and of course the North Western Motorway ferrys residents home from the city. Unfortunately due to circumstances many westies need to use childcare in Auckland City. But if you can organise an earlier finish time, why not choose a preschool closer to home. Kids can make local friends which is always a great benefit if you have the option of a West Auckland centre.
