ABC Childcare NZThe official name for ABC in New Zealand is "ABC Learning Centres". The company started in Australia originally in 1989, and launched in New Zealand in 2006. ABC Childcare was purchased by KidiCorp in 2011 when the owners overseas ran into financial difficulty. Most of the pre school centres in New Zealand were saved and there are now around 120 ABC centres around the country. ABC Childcare CentreEach ABC childcare centre is a modern, well equipped learning facility. They have two centres types: Villa, and Purpose Built. Villa childcare properties are in houses that have been converted to house a child care centre. The houses are extensively renovated and transformed to include new fitting, custom play areas indoor and out, and all the facilities a larger centre would have. Villa's are usually located in residential areas. The second type of ABC childcare property are the purpose built centres. These centres are built from the ground up to encompass everything that a modern daycare centre should have. From large play areas, to full catering kitchen to prepare meals, these centres can hold a larger amount of children and the teachers to match. Purpose built ABC Learning centres are often in newly developed areas, or those areas with many schools and preschools close by.
