At Church Corner Nest we believe that children learn and grow best in a family oriented environment where children are cared for by loving, caring teachers. We believe that children need to feel safe and have a sense of belonging in their ‘home away from home.
This is reflected in our philsophy which is very family centred. Our goal is for every child to spend their day in an environment where self-esteem, love, learning and respect for others are prominent and to leave each day feeling secure and loved in their special environment.
We offer children an environment where their natural curiosity is stimulated and encouraged. We provide children with opportunities to engage with lots of different natural materials. We provide children with the opportunity to learn about sustainabilty and how to care for our wonderful world.
Children engage in learning experiences that teach them about the world we live in such as gardening, bush walks, maintaining a worm farm, and disposing of food waste into the compost.Children are encouraged to work co-operatively with their peers and their teachers.
Children at Church Corner Nest develop strong, reciprocal, caring relationships with their teachers because we provide each child with a primary caregiver who will be responsible for that child's care for the whole time they are at the centre.
The primary caregiver works in partnership with the parents to ensure that parents dreams and aspirations for their child are included as part of the learning programme provided for individual children. We value and welcome parents feedback and contributions to our programme.
